Six Flags doesn’t just stand for awesome amusement parks.
Six Flags has also made a substantial mark on the world of wet
and wild water parks with its chain of parks known as Six Flags
Hurricane Harbor.
Hurricane Harbor water parks are spread out around the
country. Some are stand alone and some are part of a
neighboring Six Flags amusement park. But they all have some
things in common: state-of-the-art water rides, the latest and
greatest in water slides, wonderful wave pools, raging rivers
and a soaking of watery fun.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington, Texas was the
original Six Flags water park. The park opens for the summer
season on May 17, when park guest can experience the brand new
Mega Wedgie. Ticket prices for Hurricane Harbor Arlington are
$24.99
for General Admission, and $19.99 for children under 48” tall.
Kids under 2 get in free. General parking costs $10, and
preferred parking is $15.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles gives guests a
“California Drenchin,” and their official summer season begins
on May 24. Right now Hurricane Harbor L.A. is only open on
weekends. Ticket prices for Hurricane Harbor L.A. are $29.99
for General
Admission, and $20.99 for children under 48”. Kids under 2 get
in free. You can also get a Magic Mountain/Hurricane Harbor
Combo ticket for $69.99.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey is just next door to
Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Wild Safari Animal
Park. Commonly considered to be the best water park in the
tri-state area, Hurricane Harbor New Jersey officially opens
for their summer season on June 19. They are open on weekends
until then. Ticket prices start at $24.99 for kids under 54”
tall, and there is a combo package that includes both Hurricane
Harbor and the Wild Safari Animal Park.
Some Hurricane Harbor water parks are actually part of a Six
Flags amusement park, and admission is included with your
ticket to the theme park.
Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor is the
largest water park in the State of Illinois. It is just outside
of Chicago and opens for the summer on May 21.
Six Flags St. Louis has a Hurricane Harbor where water play
is included with park admission. This park officially
opens for the summer season on May 15.
Six Flags America in Prince George’s County, Maryland boasts
one of the biggest wave pools in the country. It is near
Baltimore and Washington, D.C. and is scheduled to open for the
summer in May, 2008.
Six Flags New England in Springfield, Massachusetts has not
one but two wave pools in their Hurricane Harbor. This park is
just a short drive from Boston, and it opens for the season in
late May.
