At Discovery Cove, you can also interact with land mammals, tropical fish and exotic birds. Trained dolphin adventure guides will schedule an appointment for you to swim with the bottlenose dolphins and to touch them and play with them. However, you will need to spend some time in orientation to learn more about these animals before moving into the pool where your dolphin friends await.
During the orientation, trainers will show you how to use hand signals and encouragement to let dolphins do certain behaviors before you swim with them. Packages are available for those who want to do a regular 30-minute session, as well as deep-water interaction, private photo session and more time with the trainers as well as a behind-the-scenes tour. Interaction is usually between a group of 8 people and one dolphin and the one-on-one swim is about 15 seconds.
